MODEL MK-330B

TAIL FLICK ANALGESIA METER

MK-330B Tail Flick Analgesia Meter is used for the investigation of the effect of the analgesic drugs, especially suitable for strong narcotics.

Rats are restrained with a cloth and placed on the top of the instruments. The tail is placed in a sensing groove. The sensing is photoelectric and eliminates the reaction time of the operator to influence the results. This instrument can be used for both rats and mice.

The shape and angle of the groove follows the natural form of the tail. .In addition a pinhole located 1 cm away from the beam spot serves to allow the photo-sensor to detect the flicking of the tail.

Beam intensity is adjustable for the temperature of approximately 60°C - 180°C.  Photo sensor is located under the sensing groove. If the sensing pinhole is not covered with the tail, the instrument does not work.

Using the DCS-TF&HP Data Collection Software  (Windows Version) the data obtained can be exported to a personal computer and stored as a CSV file.
